Personal, Social and Emotional Development
INTENT
IMPLEMENTATION
Our natural, rural environment provides your child with a wealth of choice, opportunity, activities and resources to enable them to become independent individuals.
Together we observe the world around us growing, whilst watching your child GROW in self confidence too. Building supportive relationships with our fabulous team and strong and loving relationships with their peers. This also includes learning how to resolve their own conflicts, children are encouraged to come up with solutions to solve these, enabling them to feel fulfilled and happy with the outcome. 🙂
CARING & KINDNESS is a real focus and as we are an 'outdoorsy bunch' we can practise this everyday, not just with our human friends ♥but by attending to our furry and feathered friends too! Taking turns and CONSIDERING OTHERS FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS. We are able to extend this beyond a child's normal range by telling stories with props and puppets, making good use of small world play, sensory areas and of course the great outdoors!
Kindness is also discussed during our Golden Rules discussions, which helps children understand their boundaries, teaching them the further importance of respecting and being kind to people of all diversities.
Our experienced staff model play and encourage children to introduce emotional narrative to their play scenarios. Children also develop their OWN SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY and membership of a community by carrying out jobs such as washing up after their own snack, passing out cups to all their friends and helping to feed our lovely animals. Children in our pre school rooms visit Bramley Residential Care Home regularly to spend time with the elderly this gives them experience of the wider world.

We encourage your child's voice to be heard, providing lots of opportunities for conversation. Your child will be able to express choices, voting for activities, expressing their ideas and contributing to stories and describing events that have happened in their home lives. We celebrate each individual child's uniqueness.
Children are encouraged to ask questions and have inquisitive minds. We have fabulous conversations which often take us on a whole different journey, sometimes factual, sometimes fictional, after all, childhood should be about MAGIC, AWE and WONDER and we strive to deliver on all of these.
